Rob comes to Michigan State University directly from New York City where he was the National Outreach and Education Coordinator for Actors Equity Association (the union for Stage Actors and Stage Managers). During his time there, he created numerous nationally-accepted educational programs and materials used for prospective and established members of the 45,000 member union.
As an actor, Rob has appeared at the Long Wharf Theatre, the Goodspeed Opera House and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre as well as in numerous off-Broadway productions. He was in the original New York and Los Angeles casts of the long-running musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! and can be heard on the cast recording of that show. He has also co-directed, produced and wrote several award-winning short and feature-length films. As an educator, Rob has served on the faculty of Marymount Manhattan College, SUNY/Stony Brook, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and Stephens College where received the "Distinguished Teaching Award" conferred by both students and faculty.
His book entitled Collaboration in Theatre about the collaboration process between director and designer, co-written with colleague Kirk Domer was recently released for publication with Palgrave Macmillan.
