New York City Alumni Reception 2009

The Department of Theatre in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters held an alumni reception in New York City on June 3, 2009. The reception was part of the CAL Study Away in New York program. The reception was hosted in the Hilton Theatre VIP Room and was hosted by Theatre Alum, Carl Pasbjerg. Current students, alum and Dean Karin Wurst were treated to a tour of the upcoming theatre renovations for the new Broadway musical Spiderman. Other CAL Alum attending included Maureen O'Boyle, Karon Hampton, Marissa Hayes and Lonnie Cooper. The Study Away program also connected current students with numerous MSU alum with events like professional roundtables, internships and job shadowing.



Chicago Alumni Reception

The Department of Theatre and the College of Arts and Letters held a reception for alumni residing in and around Chicago on November 6, 2008: Creative Connections: A Chicago Alumni Networking Reception”“. Recent graduates joined with fellow alumni to learn about exciting new initiatives in the MSU Department of Theatre. The goal was to continue to develop professional networking opportunities for MSU students who aspire to work in Chicago.


New York City Alumni Reception 2008

The Department of Theatre and the College of Arts and Letters held a reception for alumni residing in and around New York City on July 24, 2008. Recent graduates mingled with alum with established careers in the theatre including Peter Marinos (actor in the original Chicago, Secret Garden, Evita and The Producers), Lonnie Cooper (from NYU's CAP 21), Sandra Joseph (actress from Phantom of the Opera),and Carl G. Pasbjerg (producer of Young Frankenstein.)

Andrew Anglin (MA 2006), teaches theatre and directs productions at Byron Center High School and directs the theatre department at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.

Shelley (Barish) Bernacki (MFA in Design 2006), is a freelance designer in New York. She was formerly the Scenic Charge Artist for the Geva Theatre and The Berkshire Theatre Festival. She most recently served in the Faculty of SUNY New Paltz.

Chris "C.J." Brock (MA 2000), Cypress, TX, is teaching theatre arts at Goodson Middle School in Cypress, TX.

Jay Burns (MFA in Acting 2003), Los Angles, CA, I've taken the leap and started my own film and television production company, Jaywalk Films.

Rachel (Roberts) Cain (MFA in Acting 2004) has participated in staged readings of original works for the Boarshead Theatre of Lansing, MI as well as the First Annual Michigan Theatre Festival in Ann Arbor, MI. She performed with the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, and toured the country with The American Family Theatre, based in Philadelphia, PA. She has called Kansas City, MO her home for a few years now and has been lucky enough to work for The Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, Accessible Arts, The Coterie Theatre, as well as numerous independent production companies (one of which premiered Carvings; a compilation of works written by Raymond Carver and adapted for the stage). She is currently teaching for The Coterie and Baker University in Baldwin City, KS where she has also made her directorial debut.

R. Scott Cantrell (MFA in Acting 2003), Dallas, TX, is currently working at the Dallas Theater Center and continues to act at the Dallas Children's Theater and other professional theaters around the Dallas area.

Carolina Di Cesare (BA 2001), finished her MA at Oakland University, where she taught a course for teachers. During her teaching years, she also performed professionally in movies and modeled quite a bit. She has passed her straining and stressful exams to become a fully licensed Financial Advisor.

Kathryn Cleveland (MA 2004), New York City, was a member of the Michael Chekov Theatre Company and have done a few plays and films. She also started the Alacrity Players Theatre Company with fellow MSU alumni.

Jessica Cole (BA 2006), received a BA in Theatre and a BA in General Business Management. I am currently waiting for my next season to start at the Houston Grand Opera. This season I will be in multiple roles. For 2/3 of the season I will be a 1st Assistant Stage Manager while doubling up and performing the role of the Stage Management Intern for the show that runs in repertory with the show I will be a 1st on. For the other show I will be a 2nd Assistant Stage Manger. So, I will be bouncing around in a few positions and doubling up on 2 of the 3 shows I will work on.

Ray Conrad Jr (BA 2000), earned his MFA from Florida Atlantic University in 2001 and began working as a professional actor, director and teacher in the West Palm Beach area. In 2005, He co-founded a theatre company that specializes in new work, as well as the integration of high school students into the professional company. In 2007 he moved back to his home state of Ohio, where he now teaches theatre at an Arts and College Preparatory High School.

Jeanine Cull (MA 2005) is the Theater Manager at the Fowlerville Performing Arts Center.

Danielle (Baisden) Curtis, is an Assistant Professor at Lees-McRae College where she is also the Publicity Coordinator, Webmaster for Performing Arts and Stage Manager Mentor. She was the Lighting Designer for Un-Requited Love, directed by Leslie Jones at Center Stage Theatre and for The Lynch Play, directed by Jamie Carrillo at The Gene Frankel Theatre in New York City (Off-off Broadway).

Chelsea Dunlop (Dance Specialization 2004), Royal Oak, MI, received an MA in American Dance studies in December 2006.

Amber Louise (Zmick) Filipski (BA 2005), Sterling Heights, MI, is a speech-language pathologist for Waterford School District in Oakland County.

John Gilmour (BA and Dance Specialization 2006), Chicago, IL, currently works at Allied Live (formerly TMG-The Marketing Group) as a press and marketing representative for the national tours of Avenue Q and Mamma Mia!. Previous clients include: Russian on the Side, Altar Boyz, Twelve Angry Men and Forever Tango. He is also a semi-professional dancer in Chicago and regionally.

Dave Goss (MA 2001), is an actor, musician and the managing director of WNEP Theater. He has worked with a number of theater companies in and outside of Chicago, played bit parts in several films and appeared in a handful of commercials. In February of 2006, he and his wife Lori welcomed their daughter Madeline Marie into the world.

Erin Haggerty (MA 2004), Cincinnati, OH, is a Freelance Stage Manager/Theatre Producer. She is currently a Scripting and Producing for University Hospital, C.A.R.R.E. Committee Project (filming educational video to inform current staff members on behaviors in the operating room and creating healthy environments for patients).

James E. Halter (MA 2000), served as Stage Operations crew chief at Alliance Theatre from 2000-2004; Freelance work with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra 2000-2004; Stage Supervisor for Clarence Brown Theatre at University of Tennessee 2004-2006; Currently serving as Technical Services Coordinator for Sevier Heights Baptist Church, Knoxville TN.

Amy Handelman (BA 2005), Los Angeles, CA, has been trying to become a working actor since graduation.

Patrick Hickey and Annie (Stulberg) Hickey (BA 2005), both graduates of MSU married October 27th, 2007. Annie worked for Interlochen Center for the Arts before moving to Las Vegas where they currently live. Annie teaches dance for the Nevada Ballet Theatre and has recently started Star Arts LLC, a business that offers creative arts camps, classes, and workshops for the youth of Las Vegas. Pat is using his second degree in Hospitality Business (also received from MSU) and works at Caesars Palace as a restaurant manager.

Lauren A. Hill (BA 2006), Washington, DC, is currently the Lansburgh Theatre Head Electrician for the Shakespeare Theatre Company at the Harman Center for the Arts.

Matt Karr (BA 2006; MA 2008), is a freelance stage manager in New York City.

Kirsten Keyt (BA 2004), Washington DC, is working for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She works with a grant from the U.S. Department of State to bring young, pre-professional performing artists from around the world to the U.S. for training in their art form.

Eric Kildow (BA 2004), completed an M.A. in theatre at Texas A&M University and is completing his M.F.A. thesis in Performing Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has also begun teaching in an adjunct position at Armstrong Atlantic State University and begun Savannah's first New Play Festival, drawing playwright submissions from around the country and introducing students to a host of new works.

Caroline A. Kressler (BA 2003), is working for a children's television program currently airing on PBS, and Community Outreach Director and Co-producer.

Rick Kunzi (BA 2004), is a writer of the Off Broadway show Brunch The Musical. He currently resides in New York City.

Meghan Laughlin (BA 2002), worked for the Alliance Theatre Company in Atlanta, and Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles, is now at the University of Southern California, School of Theatre, as Assistant to the Dean.

Kelly M. Leight (MFA in Design 2006), is the Technical Director/ Upper School Teacher/ Freelance Designer for Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square PA. She was formerly the Properties Mistress North Shore Music Theatre at Dunham Woods.

Charles Samuel McHugh (BA English/Theatre 2005), Charleston, SC, is currently teaching theatre full-time alongside Melissa Dertian at Stratford High School.

Steve Neumann (BA 2001), is the founder and artistic director of the Sunset Theatre Company in Manhattan Beach CA. It is a children's theatre training facility that includes vocal, dance, acting, and improv. He has also done many films, commercials, and plays since moving to Los Angeles.

Jen (Taylor) Pollard (MA 2001), moved to London with her husband, who is a native. She’s done some work in T.V. acting in London and continues to network.

Jeanna Ross (BA 2000), is a Staff writer (including theatre critic) for the Clayton Pioneer and The Concordian. She is also an English teacher at Clayton Valley High School.

Amber M. (Mohr) Schrier (BA 2006), Grand Rapids, MI, is technical director and theatre tech instructor for the Van Singel Fine Arts Center and Byron Center Public Schools.

Shannon Schweitzer (MFA in Design 2005), is an Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at Buffalo State College and Lighting Designer/Supervisor at The Ohio Light Opera.

Alex Sedrowski (BA 2006), Los Angeles, CA made her LA theatre debut recently in Measure4Measure, a re-vamped look at Shakespeare's work addressing the Prop 8 controversy. Continuing work on being a professional actor in LA.

Brian Sherwood (BA 2007), Grandville, MI, is currently employed at Grandville High School in Michigan as their Auditorium Supervisor and Technical Director.

Miranda Sinke (BA 2003), Fenton, MI, is the Hartland High School drama teacher.

Lindsey Stakoe (BA 2002), Burbank, CA, is teaching dance and musical theatre at Penny Lane Dance Academy in Studio City, CA and is performing in Junk a rock opera at the Lyric Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Daryl Thompson (MFA in Acting 2008), is an Adjunct Instructor at Olivet College and performing regularly at Boarshead Professional Theatre.

Tracy M. Ward, (BA 2000), received an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Florida in 2003, and is currently the Costume Director and Resident Designer at Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora, California. Previously, she’s worked for The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC, The Washington National Opera in DC, Anheuser-Busch Entertainment Division, and Le Reve, The Show at Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.

Laura June Weissinger (BA 2005), is attending the Graduate Acting Program and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Billy Wilburn (MFA in Design 2007), is an Assistant Professor Theatre of Design / Costume Shop Manager for South Dakota State University.

Meisha Bosma (BA and Dance Specialization 1996) is a professional dancer and choreographer in the Metro DC area. She founded and now directs BOSMADANCE, a contemporary dance company in DC. For two years, she danced for Kombina Dance Company in Jerusalem, Israel, and now enjoys directing her own company. www.bosmadance.com

April Browning (BA 1994) is the Managing Director of Theatre Operations at Loyola University Chicago where I coordinate all of our production activities, as well as teach Theatre Management.

Robin (Aronson) Carr (BA 1995), Hattiesburg, MS, is an Associate Professor for Voice and Acting at The University of Southern Mississippi and is a Lessac Certified Trainer. She presented at the First International Arts in Society Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland and was the dialect coach for the production of Our Country’s Good for the University of New Orleans. Since she has been at Southern Miss, Robin has directed Little Shop of Horrors, Cabaret, And the World Goes Round and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Ms. Carr also directed Coyote on a Fence for the American College Theatre Festival. A member of Actor’s Equity, Robin has performed such roles as Fefu in Fefu and Her Friends, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, and the Fool in King Lear. She is also the co-director of Midsummer Musical Theatre Experience, a musical theatre youth camp. Receiving her M.F.A. in acting from the University of Connecticut and a Shakespeare Acting Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in the summer 2003. .

Alora Dana Cheek (MA 1996), San Jose, Ca.

J.M. (Hoopingarner) Ethridge (BA in THR Ed. 1995), is currently teaching at L’Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township, Michigan. She teaches Acting, Theatre History, and Speech, as well as various English literature courses. She’s done some community theatre around Detroit and minor commercial work, but mainly enjoy teaching and raising my two beautiful children, Beatrice and Malcolm, and spending time with my wonderful husband, Todd. She’s working on my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education through Saginaw Valley State University and loves her life.

Kristin (Wilcox) Godak (BA 1990’s), Paradise, CA, taught 8th grade English, drama, and music from 1996 to 1999. She is currently a stay at home mom to 3 darling children who love to sing, dance, and ham it up.

Scott Herriman (BA 1993), owns Alpha Omega Event Productions in Kalamazoo, Michigan (southwest Michigan's largest private event producer) which was recognized in 2000 as one of the top interactive DJ entertainers in the country by Mobile Beat magazine. He has been entertaining for private events for almost 20 years. Scott is also a scenic carpenter for the Civic Theatre in Kalamazoo, MI.

Mark Johnson (BA 1997), West Bloomfield, MI, since graduation has been the technical director at the West Bloomfield HS Auditorium and director of their MIFA One Act Play.

Elaina Kielbaso (Dance Minor 1994), Plymouth, MI, is a Kindergarten teacher – always singing, dancing and acting with her students.

Trent Klairter (BA 1993), Muskegon, MI, is teaching theatre at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Malia L. Koger (MA 1998), is currently teaching and directing at Olivet High School in Olivet, Michigan. She and her high School are two-time Class C/D State Theatre Champions, having won their second title in 2005 for a "Creative" approach to Neil Simon's Fools.

Marijean Levering (MA 1997), Utica, NY, is associate professor of theatre at Utica College and the author of Detroit on Stage: The Players Club 1910-2005.

Kristie Mazzoni (BA 1994), Newington, CT, is the assistant Director of the Travelers Science Dome at the Gengras Planetarium in West Hartford CT.

Rachel Miskowiec (BA 1992), has worked extensively in television, both in LA and NYC. She is currently an executive producer for the "Tyra Banks Show" in New York and recently won my first Emmy for "Best Daytime Talk Show/Informative."

Christine (Carlon) Pankuch (BA 1998), is working full-time for Sprint Nextel. Dancing at Glenns School of Dance and playing in the Livingston County Concert Band.

Amy S. RohrBerg (MFA in Design 1990), is an Associate Professor of Design and Production Costume Studio Technical Director at Univ. of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA

Marnie Michelle (Galbraith) Rossow (BA in Speech Therapy and Dance Specialization 1999), is a speech therapist in a rural school district. She dances for the fun of it now at my old studio.

Amy Seaman (BA 1996), Clarkston, MI, is a Theatre Manager / Technical Director for Clarkston Schools.

Jovon E. Shuck (BA 1998), Manhattan, New York, is a professional stage manager in New York. His credits include work on two Broadway shows (Noises Off with Patti LuPone and Peter Gallagher and The Graduate with Kathleen Turner), four seasons of The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, various Radio City concerts and events (including The Tony Awards), The Public Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park (The Seagull with Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline directed by Mike Nichols), two tours for ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, and work in regional theatres across the country (including Gateway Playhouse, The Main Street Theatre, The Lycian Centre and Cherry County Playhouse). He most recently toured with the National Tour of Monty Python's Spamalot (with fellow MSU theatre alum Christopher Sutton in the cast as Prince Herbert).

Joel Shull (BA 1994), Schererville, IN, received a BS in construction Management in 2007.

Jeffrey Sutton (BA 1995), has been living in NYC since his graduation at MSU. He has performed Off-Bway: Henry V, Once Upon a Mattress, Roadside and around the country for such companies as the Texas Shakespeare Festival, The Hamptons Shakespeare Festival, and Round Barn Repertory Theatre. Currently he has been working within Film and TV and even producing short films. Most recent commercials include: “Optimum HD” and “New Jersey Lottery”. Rusty Tennant (BA 1995), Portland, lived for six years in NYC performing, directing and designing for numerous productions from the self-written Off-Off B'way hit Dude Ranch to performing Antipholus of Syracuse in Judith Shakespeare's Off-B'way production of The Comedy of Errors. While in NYC, he also worked with The American Globe, Drama Book Shop, Dramatists Play Service, Ariel Tepper Productions, and served as company manager for Merce Cunningham. He received my MFA in Performance and Directing from the University of New Orleans. While in New Orleans he was honored with the 2003 Stoorer Boone Award for his production of The Laramie Project. From New Orleans, he evacuated to Dallas, TX where he taught Intro to Theatre at Collin College in Plano and choreographed/asst. directed The Rocky Horror (Puppet) Show which won the Dallas Column Award for Best Non-Equity Production. He later took a job at UNLV as the Scene Shop Supervisor to study the unique forms of theatre rising in the desert. He directed Twelfth Night in Seattle in January 2007.

Katja (Luczki) Thomakos (BA 1998), is currently the Director of Development at Water Works Theatre Company, a professional outdoor Shakespeare theatre in Michigan. I received my M.A. in Arts Management from EMU and continue to perform whenever possible. Recent credits include stints at the Bailiwick Theatre in Chicago, the Jewish Ensemble Theatre, Planet Ant, Water Works and The Theatre Company at U of D in the Detroit area.

Beth (Watson) Torrey (BA 1996), Indianapolis, IN, worked for Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre Co., earned SAG card, and worked as theatre director in Milan, MI.

Kelsey Tyler (MA 1998), is currently the Company Manager for Portland Center Stage, a LORT B regional theater in Portland, Oregon. www.pcs.org . He is also working as an actor for the smaller companies in town.

Katherine "Katie" Von till (BA 1997), Los Angeles, CA, has been working professionally as an actress in theatre (including a National Broadway Tour, prestigious regional theatres, and several world premieres), film (festival award winning shorts), television (co-stars on Primetime dramas and a principal performer in a national commercial), and voice over (radio & tv commercials, animation, toys, videogames, etc.).

Joshua Webb (MFA in Design 1997), teaches a variety of theatre courses at Worcester Academy.

Rebecca Zellar (1999), Chicago IL, and her husband founded a theatre company called The GreyZelda Theatre Group, which has been producing theatre since 2004 to critical acclaim.

Gary J. Albert (BA 1985), Petoskey, Michigan, after spending 18 years in Chicago as a non-Equity and Equity Candidate actor, is currently acting and directing with the local theatre company and looking forward to pursuing a Master's Degree.

Anita-Joyce Barnes (MFA 1984), Detroit, MI, is the Assistant Director for Annual Funds at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Lori Ann (Joseph) Boylan (BA 1982), Davis, CA, is working as Deputy Legislative Counsel in Health & Human Services, Sacramento, CA.

Bruce F. Brown (BA 1982), is the Artistic Director for Dillard Center for the Arts (Magnet High School for the Performing and Visual Arts). Bruce is also the Resident Designer for Dance Now Ensemble and Momentum Dance Theatre, both in Miami, Florida.

Gary Carkin (PhD 1984), Manchester, NH, is professor of theatre at Southern New Hampshire University and director of the Manchester Youth Theatre.

Lonnie Cooper (BA 1989), New York, is general manager of the Collaborative Arts Project, 21, New York, NY.

Susan Dear (BA 1982), Los Angeles, CA, is a script supervisor and continuity coordinator in the film industry.

Geoffrey Dick (MA 1988), Muskegon, MI, is a Teacher at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Bill Ellison (BA 1984), Chicago, IL, is the resident beatnik performer at the Underground Wonderbar by nights and a cigar consultant by day.

Edgar H. Quiles Ferrer (PhD 1981), Caguas, P.R., is a professor at the University of the Sacred Heart and the director of the Athenaeum Theatre Company in Puerto Rico.

Anthony Haigh (PhD 1986), Danville, KY, is a Professor of Theatre at Centre College. Anthony was formerly Chair of the Division of Arts and Humanities at Centre College. He recently took a sabbatical leave from Centre College and during that leave he worked as a freelance professional actor and director. He acted in several seasons at Actor's Theatre of Louisville, and Actor's Guild of Lexington as well as playing the Christmas season at Dollywood in Tennessee. He directed two plays in London and two Shakespeare plays Love's Labours Lost and Merry Wives of Windsor at the summer Shakespeare venue in Kentucky where he is artistic director. Then, due to the sudden illness of his leading actor, he had to take over the role of Falstaff with one week's notice! He also visited Edinburgh for the Festival and had a wonderful vacation with my wife in Italy.

William Hutson (PhD 1983), Omaha, NE, is a professor in Theatre Arts at Creighton University.

Jeanne Klein (MA 1981), is associate professor and director of Theatre for Young People at the University of Kansas.

Philip Johnson (MFA in Design 1986), is a Professor of Theatre Design and Technical Director of University Theatre - Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Julie Levy (-Weston) (MFA in Design 1988), spent two seasons touring with children's theater as SM/Comp. Mngr. She guest designed lights for All My Sons. She was later hired as a special events planner at the Michigan State University Museum in 1997 and has been there ever since.

Bob Malos (BS 1982), Minneapolis, MN, is a computer programmer and does some semi-professional Theatre in Minneapolis/St.Paul.

Bruce Marr (BA 1980), Brooklyn, NY, is an English Teacher at International Arts Business School in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Carl Pasbjerg (1988), has gone on to do a few things (see my web site at www.oneviking.com). He was recently the Associate Producer for Young Frankenstein and Guys and Dolls on Broadway and Off-Broadway’s Jump, amongst other projects. He served as Senior Vice President of Theatrical Production at Clear Channel Entertainment/Live Nation, and was the Executive Producer for the $35 Million production of The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Vince Paul (BA 1985), Detroit, MI, after 20 years on tour, came home to Detroit as President and Artistic Director of Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.

Cynthia Mortland Phinney (BA 1986), is working with crazy health care lobbyist in DC.

Laura Stec (BA 1986), Portola Valley, CA, is writing The Global Warming Diet: Cool Recipes for a Hot Planet, to be published in 2008.

Brian Stomestreet (BFA 1985), Burbank, CA, is working as a production designer for television and has won two Emmy Awards.

JuJuan Carolyn.Taylor (PhD 1988), Detroit, MI, is a Professor, and Department Chair of the Communication Arts Department, Schoolcraft College/Livonia Michigan I am an author of textbook Professional and Effective Speech Communications for Future Leaders in the 21st Century (Kendall/Hunt Publications 05').

Katherine M Webb (BA 1982), is currently an MFA candidate at Northern Illinois University. She has designed costumes for Rock Valley College's theatre program in Rockford, IL and other regional theatres since 1986. She is also currently working on costumes for Awesome 80's Prom which is currently running in New York City, Baltimore, and Chicago.

Michael P. Webb (MFA 1981), is currently Managing Director of Theatre at Rock Valley College, Rockford IL.

Bernard White (BA 1982), Hollywood, CA, acted in (films) “Quarantine”, “The World Unseen”, “American Dreamz”, “Matrix Reloaded”, “Matrix Revolutions”, Raising Helen” (TV) “Numb3rs”, “Bones”, “NCIS”, “90210”, “The Eleventh Hour, “The Unit”, “Jag”, West Wing”, “ER” and “CSI; Miami”. Bernard performed in two seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival; playing Charles Condomine in Coward's Blythe Spirit and a new play called Lucy and the Conquest by Cusi Cram. He also did an Off Broadway revival of Guare's Landscape of the Body. He performed in a stage adaptation of Wings of Desire for the American Repertory Theatre which played both in Cambridge (Boston) and in Amsterdam. He also did the New York premiere of a play that he did while a sophomore at MSU in the Arena Theatre, under the direction of Farley Richmond Sakharam Binder. Finally he performed in Tonight at 8:30 by Noel Coward in Los Angeles.

Greg Kean (Williams) (BA 1983), Point Roberts, WA, spent 20 years as a professional actor. He recently completed two seasons on Showtime series Dead Like Me playing Clancy Lass. He can also be seen in a movie for VH1 called Totally Awesome. Check full list of Film and TV credits online at IMDB.

Mary A. Chmelko (BA 1978), Waterford, MI, spent 22 years as Properties Director at Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester, MI. She is currently working as a freelance artist for The Parade Company in Detroit, MI.

Don Dalrymple (BA 1974), Mullens, WV, is writing a screenplay entitles “The Legend of the Dalrymple Clan.”

Betty DeWulf (BA 1974), Rochester Hills, MI, is a theatre arts teacher and thespian sponsor at Eisenhower High School.

Candice Dunn (BA 1974), New York, NY, is a staff lighting director for ABC TV, Lighting Designer for “The View”.

Tom Edwards (BA 1974), is currently living in Atlanta, GA after 17 years in Los Angeles. He is a playwright with shows produced at the Manhattan Theatre Club and throughout the United States. He wrote for television for many years and recently sold a novel entitled Blue Jesus.

Ernest Harden Jr. (BA 1974), Altadena, CA, has starred in numerous television shows and movies, including “Hollywood Homicide” and “The Transporter 2”.

Harold Hite (PhD 1973), retired (1999) after 30 years at Virginia Wesleyan College where I started the Theater-Comm. Dept in 1969. I am now translating Spanish plays into English acting scripts. I have published 5 plays and had 4 produced in the U.S. I also do some acting (theater, TV, film).

Betsy (Baker) Newell (BA in THR Ed 1977), Los Angeles, CA, sang professionally in Miami Beach, FL. and then moved to Detroit. Worked in commercials, films, industrials, and voice-overs, and portrayed Linda in Sam Raimi's cult-classic Evil Dead, which still garners fans world-wide at conventions and public appearances. Cast opposite John Malcovich and Karl Malden in Word of Honor. Worked in early 80's in films, commercials, and stage. In 2006, returned to commercials and film and stage and tv.

David Oswald (MA 1974), Milwaukee, WI, is chair of the Department of Theatre at Cardinal Stritch University has taught there since 1978. He also directs locally in Milwaukee, most recently Edward Albee's The Play about the Baby at the Boulevard Ensemble.

Bruce Snyder (MA 1973), Manassas, VA, is the Gifted Ed Resource Teacher for Gar-Field Senior High School in Prince William County, Virginia, where he has taught English, Drama, Public Speaking, Theory of Knowledge, and Gifted Enrichment Seminars for 30 years. Before that he was a professional actor in classic repertory, children's theater, improvisational comedy, and regional repertory, and a member of Actor's Equity. He still directs plays and musicals for schools and churches in the Manassas, Virginia area.
